A set of rules used to extract field values from xml documents in the specific xml document standard/template that they belong to. when the system is installed, a pre-defined xml document profile is created for each xml document standard/template. that is, smartxml can automatically identify documents belonging to kofax entrance portal, svefaktura, ebinterface, facturae, finvoice, oioxml, oioubl, and e2b document profiles directly after installation (a general xml standard is also provided for those documents that do not comply with any of the others). these profiles can then be tuned and modified by users when required. users can also create new xml document profiles in the system to support previously unknown xml formats.
