A notice period in employment law is the length of advanced notice an employer should give an employee before terminating the employment relationship. the duration of the notice period may be affected by the terms of the contract, statutory minimums, and the common law. notice is not required if there is cause for termination.

Terminating a fiber is accomplished through preparing the fiber for connection to another fiber or device such as a connector. the goal when terminating is to produce a perfect end to the fiber. the end should be cleanly cut, clear and physically connected to the receiving optical device. this can be accomplished through two means; permanently joining the fibers by welding or gluing the ends of the fiber together, or mechanically aligning the fibers and joining them with transparent gel.

- This usually refers to the physical act of terminating a cable with a special connector, which for coaxial cable is, usually, bnc. for fibre optic cable this is the st connector. it can also refer to the impedance matching when electrical transmission is
