Woolly grain

Глоссарий по архитектуре и конструкциям
The condition on the surface of a timber resulting from a cutting operation in which the wood fibers have been pulled to the surface instead of being cut cleanly. work 1. all labor necessary to produce the construction required by the contract documents, and all materials and equipment incorporated or to be incorporated in such construction. 2. the produce of a force by its corresponding displacement. workability 1. that property of freshly mixed concrete, plaster, or mortar which determines the ease and homogeneity with which it can be mixed, applied, compacted, spread, or finished; placeability. 2. the degree of ease of cutting and quality of cut that can be obtained in various woods with hand tools or machines. work edge, face edge, working edge in carpentry, the first edge to be planed smooth; the edge from which other edges are measured or trued.

Grain, английский
  1. 1. the general direction of the fibres or wood elements relative to the main axis of the piece.

  2. The direction, size, arrangement, appearance, or quality of the fibers in wood.

  3. Зерно, зернистость. характеристика фотоматериала или процесса его проявки

  4. "гран".

  5. Зерно; гранула; элемент заряда; шашка

  6. Зерновая (при обозначении вместимости)

  7. Silver particles that remain on the film after processing to form an image. usually, the faster the film, the coarser the grain, the less the definition.

  8. The appearance or echoes of the silver crystals in film in the final negative or positive image. the larger the area of the grain in the film emulsion, the more sensitive the film is to light; the more sensitive it is to light the "faster" it is. larger grains are manifest in the image as mottled or salt-and-pepper clumps of light and dark tones, usually apparent in very fast films on visual inspection, in slow films upon extreme magnification. grain is most easily seen as non-uniform density in areas sharing the same tone (such as a gray sky.)

  9. 1. a very small piece of something hard such as salt 2. a measure of weight equal to 0.0648 grams. symbol gr

  10. The direction, size, arrangement, appearance, or quality of the fibers in wood or lumber

  11. In the grain of, is immediately preceding another ship in the same direction.—bad-grain, a sea-lawyer; a nuisance.

  12. An obsolete term for the line extending in front of a vessel; the opposite of “wake.”

  13. Срез [скалывание] поперёк волокон

  14. A rectangular enclosure with an open top for bulk loading, covered with a tarp, and a funnel shaped bottom for unloading grain, fertilizer, etc.

  15. Solid particle or crystal of metal. as molten metal solidifies grains grow and lattices intersect, forming irregular grain boundaries.

  16. Individual crystal in a polycrystalline material. see also grain boundary. 500 glossary g-h

  17. The natural patterns in wood created by the direction of fibers.

Grain (capacity), английский

Grain (gr), английский

Grain (leather), английский
The outside of the hide or skin consisting of the pores, cells, wrinkles and other characteristics which constitute the natural texture of the leather.

Grain bag, английский

Grain boundary, английский
  1. An interface separating two grains when the orientation of the lattices changes from that of one grain to that of another. when the orientation change is very small, the boundary is sometimes referred to as subboundary.

  2. Interface that forms between grains of solidifying metal as the random oriented crystal lattices meet. see grain. 310 visual testing

  3. Interface that forms between grains of solidifying metal as the randomly oriented crystal lattices meet.

Grain capacity, английский
    Cubic capacity in `grain"

Grain capacity. cubic capacity in `grain`, английский

Grain character, английский
The natural markings on the surface of the leather.

Grain coarsening, английский

Grain coarsness, английский

Grain crusher; grain mill, английский

Grain direction, английский
    Направления протяжки вдоль волокон бумаги

Grain distribution/grain spectrum, английский
Indicates the ratio between the sizes of the individual powdergrains

Grain drill, английский

Grain exchan, английский

Grain fill, английский

Grain flow, английский

Grain gliding, английский

Grain gold, английский

Grain growth, английский

Construction, французский

Incorporated, английский
  1. Встроенный, вмонтированный

  2. Встроенный

Corresponding, английский
    Соответствующий

Displacement, английский
  1. Перемещение

  2. Водоизмещение

  3. The weight of water displaced by the immersed volume of a ship`s hull, exactly equivalent to the weight of the whole ship.

  4. The weight, in tons of 2,240 pounds, of the vessel and its contents. calculated by dividing the volume of water displaced in cubic feet by 35, the average density of sea water.

  5. Перемещение, сдвиг, весовое водоизмещение,

  6. The fact of being moved out of the usual position fracture of the radius together with displacement of the wrist

  7. Водоизмещение судна

  8. Водоизмещение; водоизмещающее плавание

  9. The centre of gravity of the displacement relates to the part of the ship under water, considered as homogeneous. the weight of water which a vessel displaces when floating is the same as the weight of the ship. (see centre of cavity.)

  10. Weight of a vessel expressed as either the number of long tons, or the cubic feet of water, displaced by the hull (1 ton = 35 cu.ft of seawater or 35.9 cu.ft of fresh).

  11. The volume of liquid delivered by a single stroke of a pump piston.

  12. Sometimes used as a synonym for offset deflec tion, deviation, dislocation, throw.

  13. The capacity of an air compressor, usually ex pressed in cubic feet of air per minute (c.f.m.).

  14. The weight of water dislocated by the hull of a vessel.

  15. The weight of a boat measured according to the weight of water it displaces. a boat displaces an amount of water equal to the weight of the boat, so the boat’s displacement and weight are identical.

  16. Изменение линейного или углового положения* перемещение, отклонение органа управления

  17. The product of stroke and of cylinder bore and number of cylinders of an engine, representing the theoretical volume of (incompressible) working fluid that can be drawn into an engine with each cycle. see also capacity and swept volume. 45

  18. Displacement is where you change your nearest relative. the process of changing the nearest relative is often known as ‘displacement proceedings’. your nearest relative can be displaced if you or the local authority have concerns about the way that they are behaving. see our pages on the nearest relative for more information.
