Deadweight tonnage

Морской словарь
The weight in long tons of cargo, passengers and provisions which brings a vessel from its light displacement to its summer load-line (also deadweight capacity). see tonnage.

Deadweight, английский
  1. Дедвейт

  2. A common measure of ship carrying capacity. the number of tons (2240 lbs.) of cargo, stores and bunkers that a vessel can transport. it is the difference between the number of tons of water a vessel displaces "light" and the number of tons it displaces "when submerged to the `deep load line`." a vessel`s cargo capacity is less than its total deadweight tonnage. the difference in weight between a vessel when it is fully loaded and when it is empty (in general transportation terms, the net) measured by the water it displaces. this is the most common, and useful, measurement for shipping as it measures cargo capacity.

  3. Дедвейт; груз

  4. The difference between the displacement of a merchantman when light and when fully laden.

Deadweight all told, английский
    Полный дедвейт

Deadweight cargo, английский
A long ton of cargo that can be stowed in less than 40 cubic feet.

Deadweight cargo capacity, английский
    Грузоподъемность

Deadweight loss, английский
Measure of economic inefficiency following misallocation of resources from producing too little or too much of a product. total economic welfare is maximized when price is set at marginal cost, achieving allocative efficiency.

Deadweight tester, английский
Грузовой испытатель (пресс для испытания манометров)

Deadweight, dwat, dwcc, английский
A common measure of ship carrying capacity. the number of tons (2240 lbs.) of cargo, stores and bunkers that a vessel can transport. it is the difference between the number of tons of water a vessel displaces "light" and the number of tons it displaces "when submerged to the `deep load line`." a vessel`s cargo capacity is less than its total deadweight tonnage. the difference in weight between a vessel when it is fully loaded and when it is empty (in general transportation terms, the net) measured by the water it displaces. this is the most common, and useful, measurement for shipping as it measures cargo capacity.

Deadweight. weight of cargo, stores and water, i.e. the difference between lightship and loaded displacement., английский

Tonnage, английский
  1. The unit of measure used in air conditioning to describe the cooling capacity of a system one ton of cooling is based on the amount of heat needed to melt one

  2. Various measures of the size or cargo carrying capacity of a ship, including:

  3. Deadweight, gross, net, displacement; a quantity of cargo normally expressed as a number of tons.

  4. A quantity of cargo normally expressed as a number of tons.

  5. Deadweight, gross, net, displacement.

  6. A custom or impost formerly granted to the crown for merchandise imported or exported. also, the admeasurement of a ship, and thence to ascertain her cubical contents converted into tons. ( see burden.)

  7. The term is derived from the old english tunne and refers to [1] the fees or duty charged on ships and their cargoes; [2] the total amount of shipping in a fleet or of a country; [3] the cargo handling capacity of a port; [4] the carrying capacity or weight of an individual ship.

Tonnage measurement, английский
The first english-language laws of ship measurement, issued in 1492, were straightforward—a ship that could carry 30 tunne casks in her hold had a burthen of 30 tunnes. since then, there have been various other systems, many based on a ship’s linear dimensions. today there are two basic methods, each of which has a number of sub-divisions: • volume measurement applies almost exclusively to merchantmen, with 100 cubic feet being counted

Tonnage oxygen, английский

Tonnage signal, английский
A signal at the foot of a steeply rising grade, fitted with a sign that directs drivers of prescribed trains.

Tonnage-day, английский

Tonnage-km, английский

  2. Резервы на покрытие возможных потерь

Displacement, английский
  1. Перемещение

  2. Водоизмещение

  3. The weight of water displaced by the immersed volume of a ship`s hull, exactly equivalent to the weight of the whole ship.

  4. The weight, in tons of 2,240 pounds, of the vessel and its contents. calculated by dividing the volume of water displaced in cubic feet by 35, the average density of sea water.

  5. Перемещение, сдвиг, весовое водоизмещение,

  6. The fact of being moved out of the usual position fracture of the radius together with displacement of the wrist

  7. Водоизмещение судна

  8. Водоизмещение; водоизмещающее плавание

  9. The centre of gravity of the displacement relates to the part of the ship under water, considered as homogeneous. the weight of water which a vessel displaces when floating is the same as the weight of the ship. (see centre of cavity.)

  10. Weight of a vessel expressed as either the number of long tons, or the cubic feet of water, displaced by the hull (1 ton = 35 cu.ft of seawater or 35.9 cu.ft of fresh).

  11. The volume of liquid delivered by a single stroke of a pump piston.

  12. Sometimes used as a synonym for offset deflec tion, deviation, dislocation, throw.

  14. The weight of water dislocated by the hull of a vessel.

  15. The weight of a boat measured according to the weight of water it displaces. a boat displaces an amount of water equal to the weight of the boat, so the boat’s displacement and weight are identical.

  16. Изменение линейного или углового положения* перемещение, отклонение органа управления

  17. The product of stroke and of cylinder bore and number of cylinders of an engine, representing the theoretical volume of (incompressible) working fluid that can be drawn into an engine with each cycle. see also capacity and swept volume. 45
