Overføringsfaktor

Transmission factor, английский

  2. Dimensionless factor expressing the loss of intensity of a light beam after having travelled through a medium that has been rendered semi-transparent by smoke.

Overførbar, датский

Overfall, английский
  1. A rippling or race in the sea, where, by the peculiarities of bottom, the water is propelled with immense force, especially when the wind and tide, or current, set strongly together. (see ripps.)

  2. Dangerously steep breaking waves, due to opposing currents in shallow waters.

Overfall -, английский

Overfall pipe,

Overfalls, английский
Dangerously steep and breaking seas due to opposing currents and wind in a shallow area, or strong currents over a shallow rocky bottom.

Overfault, английский

Overfeed, английский
Overfeeding; overfed. to attempt to make a diamond or rock-drill bit penetrate rock being drilled at a rate in excess of that at which the optimum economical performance of the bit is attained, which needlessly damages the bit and shortens its life.

Overfilled launch, английский
  1. A condition for launching light into the fiber where the incoming light has a spot size and na larger than accepted by the fiber, filling all modes in the fiber.

Overfilled launch condition (oflc), английский
When a light pulse floods the core of a fiber. since leds produce erratic or incoherent burst of lights, they “overfill” the core when coupled to it

Overfire air, английский
Secondary air which is introduced in a furnace above the grate to complete combustion and to produce turbulence, thereby increasing the efficiency of the combustion process.

Overfired, английский

Overfiring, английский

Overfished, английский
A fish population (stock) which size is sufficiently small to require a change in management practices to achieve an appropriate level and rate of rebuilding. note that overfishing and overfished have different definitions.

Overfishing, английский
  1. Occurs when fishing activities reduce fish stocks below an acceptable level. this can occur in any body of water from a pond to the oceans.

  2. Harvesting a fish population (stock) at a rate greater than which will meet the management goal within a particular year or season. note that overfishing and overfished have different definitions.

Overfitting, английский
  1. A term used in neural networks, recursive partitioning, and other automated modeling areas. if the training data is considered to consist both signal and noise (i.e., noisy data), a modeling technique has begun to overfit when it begins capturing the "noise" instead of the "signal." this usually occurs when a model is allowed to increase its number of "parameters`` such as regression coefficients, splits in recursive partitioning schemes, or hidden units in neural networks. the effect of overfitting is to reduce the applicability of the model to other data sets, (i.e., to limit its generalizability). in the extreme, the model can only "predict" its input. the most straight-forward way to eliminate this effect is to require a very large number of observations per parameter in the model.

  2. A problem in data mining when random variations in data are misclassified as important patterns. overfitting often occurs when the data set is too small to represent the real world.

Overfloor duct, английский
A duct (usually fabricated of metal) that is designed to house and protect communications wiring across floor surfaces. overflow, overflow pipe 1. a pipe used to remove excess water and/or to prevent flooding in certain sanitary fixtures, storage tanks, and plumbing fittings. 2. an outlet for a storage tank; used to prevent flooding or to set the water level in the tank.

Overflow, английский

  3. Text that does not fit within a text box. the text is hidden until it can be flowed into a new text box, or until the text box it overflows is resized to include it. overflow

  4. The condition that occurs when data resulting from input or processing requires more bits than have been provided in hardware or software to store the data. examples of overflow include a floating-point operation whose result is too large for the number of bits allowed for the exponent, a string that exceeds the bounds of the array allocated for it, and an integer operation whose result contains too many bits for the register into which it is to be stored.

  5. The part of a data item that cannot be stored because the data exceeds the capacity of the available data structure.

  6. To be filled beyond capacity.

Overflow, английский

Overflow (in telegraphy), английский

Overflow -, английский

Tværgående ventilation, датский

Acceptabel risiko, датский
