Scotopic vision

Глоссарий медицинских терминов
  1. Vision in the dark and in dim light, where the rods of the retina are used instead of the cones, which are used for photopic vision. dark adaptation

  2. Dark adapted vision, using only the rods in the retina, where differences in brightness can be detected but differences in hue cannot. vision is wholly scotopic when the luminance of the test surface is below 3 ? 10–5 cd·m–2 (2.7 ? 10–6 cd·ft–2). also known as parafoveal vision. compare mesopic vision and photopic vision.

  3. Dark adapted vision, using only the rods in the retina, where differences in brightness can be detected but differences in hue cannot. vision is wholly scotopic when the luminance of the test surface is below 3 ? 10–5 cd/m2 (2.7 ? 10–6 cd/ft2). also known as parafoveal vision. see also dark adaptation. compare mesopic vision; photopic vision.

  4. Average spectral responsivity curve of the human eye when adapted to very dark conditions (less than 3 ? 10–5 cd·m–2). illumination levels for scotopic vision are below the sensitivity of retinal cones, so no color perception is possible. self-demagnetizing factor: estimate of the resistance of a test object to magnetization due to the proximity of magnetic poles of opposite polarity. for coil magnetization, the internal magnetization within a low l·d–1 ratio test object is opposite of the coil’s magnetic field and a lower distance between poles results in a greater internal resistance. self-inductance: ratio of magnetic flux formed around a conductor to the amount of current passing through a straight or coiled conductor. self-inductance is measured in henries, where one henry equals one weber per ampere (1 h = 1 wb·a–1).

  5. Inductance.

Adaptation, английский
  1. Адаптация; самонастройка; самоприспосабливание

  2. Адаптация (приспособление организма к изменившимся условиям среды, питательным и токсичным веществам)

  3. 1. a change which has been or can be made to something 2. the act of changing something so that it fits a new situation 3. the process by which sensory receptors become accustomed to a sensation which is repeated add add abbr attention deficit disorder

  4. Адаптация

  5. N адаптация14 (тж. adaption, см. тж. adoption) theory

  6. Адаптация; приспособление

  7. 1) characteristics of organisms evolved as a consequence of natural selection; 2) changes in the form or behavior of an organism during life as a response to environmental stimuli; 3) changes in the excitability of a sense organ as a result of continuos stimulation.

  8. Stability of success in the face of a changing environment. two kinds of adaptation are distinguished. (a) darwinian adaptation after darwin who observed how organisms change their internal structure when their environment makes existing forms no longer viable. e.g., ashby`s homeostat searches for a new pattern of behavior as soon as disturbances in its surroundings drive or threaten to drive its essential variables outside specified limits. (b) singerian adaptation after singer who described how organisms, particularly man, change the nature of their environment so as to eliminate threats to or prevent the destruction of their own internal organization. e.g., agriculture, architecture and technology adapt the physical environment to human-social needs. the difference between "adaptive" and "adapting" behavior (steg) also reflects this distinction. adaptation can occur in several levels of an organiz~tional hierarchy and may even apply to itself as in "amplifying adaptation" (ashby) which is "adaptation to adapt" and has the properties of self-organization.

  9. Initiatives and measures to reduce the vulnerability or increase the resilience of natural and human systems to actual or expected climate change impacts. various types of adaptation exist, for example, anticipatory and reactive, private and public, and autonomous and planned. examples are raising river or coastal dikes, retreating from coastal areas subject to fl ooding from sea level rise or introducing alternative temperature-appropriate or drought-adapted crops for conventional ones.

Differences, английский
Цифровой избирательный вызов, цив - технология радиосвязи, при которой предварительное согласование канала вызова другого судна осуществляется не широковещательно на голосовом канале, а на отдельном цифровом канале. после согласования рабочего канал

Brightness, английский
  1. Term for the intensity of illumination of a reproduced video picture.

  2. The attribute of visual perception in accordance with which an area appears to emit or reflect more or less light (this attribute of color is used in the color model hsb - hue, saturation, brightness). see lightness.

  3. A term to indicate the relative amount of light intensity available. brighter is more light, dimmer is less light. in an infrared system, the brightness control may affect actual image intensity or it may change the temperature range displayed. either eff

  4. The attribute of visual perception in accordance with which an area appear to emit more of less light. (luminance is the recommended name for the photo-electric quantity which has also been called brightness.)

  5. In ntsc and pal video signals, the brightness information at any particular instant in

  6. Яркость

  7. The value of a pixel in an electronic image, representing its lightness value from black to white. usually defined as brightness levels ranging in value from 0 (black) to 255 (white).

  8. In ntsc and pal video signals, the brightness information at any particular instant in a picture is conveyed by the corresponding instantaneous dc level of active video. control is an adjustment of setup (black level, black reference).

  9. Is strictly defined as an attribute of a visual sensation according to which an area appears to emit more or less light. we sometimes misuse the term brightness in this catalog instead of the more correct “luminance.” luminance, used for sources, is the luminous flux in an elemental beam from a given point per unit area per solid angle in the specified direction.

  10. The visual sensation of the luminous intensity of a light source. the brightness of a laser beam is most closely associated with the radiometric concept of radiance.

  11. A term mostly used in a qualitative way, related to the output power and beam quality of a laser; quantitatively

  12. The luminance of objects. the brightness of any area of the subject is dependent on how much light falls on it and how reflective it is. brightness range is the relationship we perceive between the light and dark subjects in a scene. brightness contrast is a judgment of the relative measure of that range, such as high, low, or normal. brightness values are sometimes referred to as ev (exposure values), a combination of aperture and shutter speed. brightness values in the scene are translated to tonal values on film.

  13. Value of a pixel in a digital image giving its value of lightness from black to white, with o being black and 255 being white.

  14. That attribute of visual perception in accordance with which a surface appears to emit more light or less light. now called luminance.

  15. The amount of light that is emitted by a computer monitor or picture displayed on the monitor.

  16. Яркость. для видеосигналов систем ntsc и pal
